I do not get dropped from the VPN when I am on the DSL connection. We have a second home that does not have cable modem so I am using DSL. ![]() Since I first had this problem, I isolated another variabe back to a Comcast problem. This is not a signal strenth problem - the machines are within eyesight (within 5 feet) of an Airport Express that has a direct cable connection to the Airport Base Station. Sometimes the VPN will stay connected for many hours - other times it disconnects in a few mintues after I connect. ![]() It is easy to reconnect when the VPN drops, but there is no pattern as to when it drops. ![]() We also have two IBM notebooks running XP that don't drop the VPN connection when connected through the same Airport router. I am using an Airport Base Station to access the internet through a Comcast cable modem (the Motorolla modem they supplied) - we have two MacBook Pro notebooks and this problem happens on both.
